The 2025 Frosty Fling Ice Bowl

This year, the BSGDGA has teamed up with the Ice Bowl Foundation to make our annual Frosty Fling an official Ice Bowl charity event.

The Ice Bowl is a series of winter disc golf events around the world aimed at raising money and food donations for local charities tackling food insecurity. This year, all proceeds from the event will be going to Stephenville Emergency Food Services

The Frosty Fling is also a part of the Stephenville Winter Carnival, which runs from March 13 to March 16, 2025.

Details:

  • WHEN: Saturday, March 15, 2025, 1:00 p.m.

  • WHERE: Stephenville Disc Golf Course, AKA “The Jet” (next to the Stephenville Town Hall)

  • Cost: Non-perishable food item or monetary donation

  • 18 holes

  • Doubles format

  • Scoring and Non-scoring Divisions

  • Prizes to be won

Non-scoring division participants are eligible to win prizes based on random draw only.

Scoring division participants are eligible to win prizes based only on their score.

Scoring division participants will be paired based on their PDGA ratings to ensure a more level playing field. For example, the highest rated player will be paired with the lowest rated player. The second- highest rated player will be paired with the second-lowest rated player and so on. If a player has never had a PDGA rating, but wants to play in the Scoring division, they will be considered the lowest rated player.

Awarding of Prizes:

The prizes will be given out after the event at the CanAm Masonic Lodge (12 St. Clare Avenue, Stephenville, NL). The members of the Masonic lodge have graciously given us their warm and toasty spot as a place to gather after the event, give out prizes, chat about the round, and enjoy a warm drink.

Mulligans

Scoring division players can buy unlimited mulligans in the form of $5 donations to improve their score. A mulligan is when a team re-throws a shot they do not like, without penalty. Scores will be kept on the UDisc app and will be live for all players to see, in order to help inform their mulligan decisions.
